Abstract

Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, founder of Jewish Renewal, was a visionary teacher and leader who developed tools for transformation and helped a generation of Jewish Americans rekindle their faith. This article describes the acquisition, assessment, digitization and public access dimensions of the Schachter-Shalomi Collection housed at the University of Colorado, Boulder archives.

Author Biography & Related Information

Stephanie Yuhas, Archives Project Director at University of Colorado, Boulder Archives is curator of the Post-Holocaust American Judaism Archive that includes the Zalman M. Schachter-Shalomi Collection, as well as other key figures in Jewish Renewal and the Mazal Holocaust Collection. She received her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Denver in 2012 and teaches at Naropa University in addition to her archival duties.
